Mr. Coddington moved for <br />approval and Mr. Farr seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of appointment <br />to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Coddington <br />moved to appoint Mr. Floyd MacKenzie and Ms. Kissler seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimously. Mr. MacKenzie will serve as an <br />alternate, with a term expiring July 1986. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of appointment <br />to the Building Code Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Farr <br />stated that Mark Palmer (who was to be replaced) had been in contact <br />with him and indicated his willingness to continue serving on the <br />Board. Mr. Robbins stated that the Board members had tried repeatedly <br />to contact him but were unsucessful. Mayor Craddock moved to table <br />this item until Mr. Palmer's situation reached a solution and Mr. <br />Brown seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration confirmation of her appoint- <br />ment to the Examining and Supervising Board of Electricians. Mayor <br />Craddock moved to appoint Mr. Gary Hopkins and Mr. Brown seconded <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a public hearing and consideration for approval <br />of Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 35.H.3.g. OF THE <br />GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY ADDING A SUB- <br />SECTION (2) TO SAID SECTION 35.H.3.g. PERTAINING TO <br />THE ACQUISITION OF SPECIFIC USE PERMITS FOR ESTAB- <br />LISHMENTS WHICH ARE LICENSED FOR ON-PREMISE CONSUMP- <br />TION OF LIQUOR; AND, DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock declared the public hearing open and asked if there was <br />anyone to speak in favor of the Ordinance. Mr. Frank Robbins, Planning <br />Director took the podeumand began reading a memo he wrote to the <br />Council. He stated that the Zoning Commission at the March 6, 1985, <br />meeting recommended that the Planning Director issue Specific Use <br />Permits to holder's of valid TABC on-premise licenses whose license was <br />valid on the effective date of the "Bar Ordinance". In order to do <br />this, the "Bar Ordinance" would need to be amended. He also stated <br />that presently there are about 80 establishments who need Specific Use <br />Permits. If the amendment is to be passed and adopted by the City <br />Council, the Planning Director will mail the Specific Use Permit and a <br />copy of the ordinance to the TABC holders. Mayor Craddock asked if <br />there was anyone else who wished to speak to this item, either for or <br />against it and no one did. Mayor Craddock declared the public hearing <br />closed. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the ordinance on first <br />reading and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion which passed un- <br />animously. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a public hearing and consideration for <br />approval of Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAR- <br />COS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984, (VOL. 66) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF 4.676 ACRES OF LAND, BEING PART OF <br />LOT 10, A.W. WITHERS SUBURBAN TRACTS, VOLUME 61, PAGES <br />80-81, DEED RECORDS; AND THE SOUTHEAST HALF OF THAT POR- <br />TION OF DENVER STREET ADJACENT TO THIS REMAINING PORTION <br />OF LOT 10, SAID STREET HAVING BEEN ABANDONED AS RECORDED <br />
