<br /> SECTION 8. That an electronic system, as the term is de- <br /> fined in Article 7.15, Texas Election Code, shall be utilized <br /> in connection with said election. Said system shall be utilized <br /> for all absentee voting as well as for all precinct voting con- <br /> ducted on election day. Ample voting equipment shall be provided <br /> for absentee voting and in each of the various precincts on election <br /> day. The central counting station is established as the Conference <br /> Room, San Marcos, City Hall, 630 East Hopkins. The Presiding Judge <br /> of the Central Counting Station shall be Dr. Wilbon Davis. The <br /> Alternate Judge and Counting Station Supervisor shall be Danny <br /> Dever. <br /> SECTION 9. That said election shall be held under the provi- <br /> sions of and in accordance with the provisions of the Charter and <br /> Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, and so far as may be appli- <br /> cable, In accordance with the laws of the State of Texas. <br /> SECTION 10. That a copy of this ordinance signed by the Mayor <br /> of the City, attested by the City Secretary and approved by the City <br /> Attorriey, shall serve as proper notice of said election. <br /> SECTION 11. That notice of said election, inclûding a Spanish <br /> translation thereof, shall be published in a newspaper published <br /> in San Marcos at least once between March 3, 1983, and March 22, <br /> 1983; shall be posted in each election precinct in which said <br /> election is to be held on or before March 12, 1983 and shall be <br /> posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on or before March 12, <br /> 1983. <br /> SECTION 12. That a copy of this ordinance shall be delivered <br /> to the presiding judge of each election precinct in which the <br /> election is ordered to be held, which copy shall serve as a writ <br /> of election, giving notice of said election, the location of the <br /> polling places and the hours during which the polls shall be kept <br /> open. <br /> SECTION 13. That a test of the automatic tabulating equip- <br /> ment shall be performed pursuant to Article 7.15-20 (f) of the <br /> Texas Election Code prior to the start of the count of the ballots. <br /> Public notice of the time and place of the test shall be given at <br /> least 48 hours prior thereto by publication once in the San Marcos <br /> Daily Record. A like test shall be performed at the conclusion of <br /> the count before the election returns are approved as official. <br /> SECTION l4.
