Handbook for Planning Data Services
7. ERCOT Dynamics Database
Description:
Make available Owner data required for updating the ERCOT dynamics databases.
Section 6.2 of the ERCOT Planning Guide states: "The Facility owner shall provide
appropriate dynamics data to ERCOT including the data for a planned Facility.
Dynamics data for a planned Facility will be updated by the Facility owner upon
completion of the design for the Facility. Updated dynamics data for an existing Facility
shall be provided to ERCOT when field tests, inspections, or other information
demonstrates that the dynamics data should be changed to accurately represent the
dynamic characteristics of the Facility. "To meet the requirements of Section 6.2, LCRA
and Owners will perform the following:
Owner Shall:
1. Provide the load composition data necessary to develop load models for use in
dynamic simulations (Also see Section 3- ALDR).
2. Provide the location, settings, and estimated load to be interrupted. Estimated load
should be the consistent with the seasonal peak and off -peak loads used in the
ERCOT SSWG Dataset A cases (Also see Section 4- UFLS).
3. Provide vendor data for dynamic equipment (e.g., static var compensation)
connected to the system. Data shall be appropriate for development of a dynamic
model to be included in the ERCOT Dynamics Working Group (DWG) Flat Start
cases. When available from the vendor, the vendor should be requested to provide a
dynamics model compatible with the current version of software used to develop the
DWG Flat Start cases.
4. Facilitate the acquisition of data needed to develop the dynamic models to be
represented in the DWG Flat Start cases for resource Entities with facilities
connected to Owner's system.
5. Be accountable for the data produced including accuracy, timeliness, and
completeness.
6. Provide a name and contact information to include with the data submittal to ERCOT
as necessary.
11 f Pag, Rev, 0
