<br /> PART IV--PROGRAM NARRATIVE, cont'd. <br /> An estimated timetable for the expansion project is given below: <br /> July 25, 1983 LSCA Title II preapplication is submitted to the State <br /> Library and the Capital Area Planning Council for review. <br /> Sept. 1, 1983 The State Library recommends approval of the expansion <br /> project. <br /> Oct. 1, 1983 City of San Marcos voters approve the sale of $450,000 <br /> in bonds to expand the library. <br /> Oct. 15, 1983 The final application is submitted to the State Library. <br /> Nov. 1, 1983 The State Library releases a contract with the City of <br /> San Marcos to expend grant funds. <br /> Nov. 15, 1983 The City engages the services of a library building consultant <br /> and appoints a library building committee to prepare a written <br /> building program and furniture/equipment specifications. <br /> Jan. 15, 1984 The building program is completed and submitted to the <br /> State Library for review. <br /> Jan. 15, 1984 The City engages the services of licensed architects and <br /> engineers to prepare the plans, specifications, site surveys, <br /> and soil investigations necessary for the project. <br /> April 15, 1984 Final working plans, specifications, etc. are completed and <br /> submitted to the State Library for approval. <br /> May 15, 1984 The expansion project is placed on the market for bids. <br /> June 30, 1984 A construction contract is signed with the selected builder <br /> and construction begins. <br /> July 1, 1985 Furniture/equipment specifications are released to the suppl iers <br /> for bids. <br /> Aug. 15, 1985 A contract for the supply of furniture and equipment is signed <br /> with the selected supplier. <br /> Jan. 1, 1986 Construction on the building is completed, inspected and <br /> accepted by the city. <br /> Feb. 1, 1986 Furnishings and equipment are received and installed. <br /> Aug. 31, 1986 All grant funds are expended by the City. <br /> Feb. 1, 1987 Final audit of grant funds is conducted by independent CPA <br /> and submitted to the State Library. <br />
