<br /> 15 <br />Regular Meeting August 12, 1985 Page 5 <br /> AYE: Brown, Farr, Craddock, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola. <br /> NAY: Coddington. <br /> ABSTAIN: None. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE <br /> "MIN STREET" PROGRAM; DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER <br /> AS COORDINATOR OF ALL MAIN STREET PROGRAM ACTIVITIES; <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF <br /> A PROPOSED CONTRACT BETWEEN BYRN & ASSOCIATES, INC., <br /> ENGINEERS AND SURVEYORS, AND SAID CITY FOR THE PROVI- <br /> SION OF SERVICES TO SAID CITY IN CONNECTION WITH THE <br /> PROPOSED EXTENSION OF LAMAR STREET; AUTHORIZING AND <br /> APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF THE SUM OF $4,300.00 <br /> THEREFOR; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CON- <br /> TRACT ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECT- <br /> IVE DATE. <br />Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval for the Department <br />of Sociology and Anthropology at SWTSU to conduct archeological research <br />at four sites along the San Marcos River in City Park. Mr. Brown moved <br />for approval and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. Mr. Hankins advised <br />he had reviewed the State Antiquities Law, and if the City allowed any <br />of the sites to be destroyed, the City could be held liable for our <br />negligence. During discussion it was consensus of the Council the <br />Director of Parks be made responsible for the protection from vandalism <br />of the sites, and that a plan would need to be worked up for this pro- <br />tection. Dr. Garber of SWTSU advised the Council sod could be placed <br />over the sites after excavation to prevent erosion. On roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> AYE: Brown, Coddington, Farr, Craddock, Kissler, Nicola. <br /> NAY: None. <br /> ABSTAIN: Guerra. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration award of bid on copier(s) <br />for City Hall. Mr. Coddington moved to award bid for an IBM Series III, <br />Model 60 and a Xerox 1075, both on a 5-year lease/purchase plan, the <br />IBM copier to be $8,367.72 (plus .006 cents per copy) annually and the <br />Xerox copier to be $18,203.40 (plus .006 cents per copy after 25,000 <br />copies) annually, for a total of $26,571.12 annually (plus copies), <br />and Mayor Craddock seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration authorization to bid a large <br />striping machine for the Street Department. Mr. Farr moved to authorize <br />bidding and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
