<br />16 <br />Regular Meeting August 12, 1985 Page 6 <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration authorization to bid a <br />rubber tired loader for the Street Department. Mr. Brown moved for <br />authorization to bid and Mr. Coddington seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced a discussion by Corum Company of Houston, <br />Texas for LUEs required for three restaurants and one hair salon at <br />San Mar Plaza. Jim Agliata, Lon nie Parr and Sid Weiss of Corum addressed <br />the Council requesting they be grandfathered from the capital recovery <br />fee charges. City Manager Gonzalez advised the Council it was a policy <br />question if we want to receive similar requests for grandfathering for <br />all property alreading in existing use to be given credit, and that it <br />would set a precedent that would be difficult to contain. Mr. Weiss <br />advised it would increase the City's tax base. He said they would be <br />willing to participate in the cost of a traffic light in their area to <br />make an effort to cooperate with traffic congestion. City Attorney <br />Hankins advised the Council our Ordinance would apply to anyone who <br />connects to the City's utilities. The Council directed Staff to work <br />with Corum Company and bring the matter to the Council at a future <br />meeting when resolution can be made. <br />Mr. Brown moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session pursuant <br />to Article 6252-17, §§2(e) and (g), V.A.C.S., to discuss contemplated <br />litigation and matters where the duties of the City Attorney to the <br />City pursuant to the Code of Professional Responsiblity of the State <br />Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Article 6252-17; and the appointment, <br />employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline and dismissal <br />of a public officer or employee and complaints or charges against a <br />public officer or employee, respectively, and Mr. Guerra seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously (8:39 p.m.). <br />Mr. Farr moved the Council reconvene at 9:53 p.m. and Mr. Brown seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at motion made by Mr. Coddington and <br />seconded by Mr. Guerra. <br /> ,~ <br /> ~~ ~r ~ra~ ~--;~~ <br /> BiI dington ~ <br /> Council Member <br /> ::¡-)v d C <br /> Fred Guerra <br /> Coj¥nc i 1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> ,I <br /> {IV <br /> Hi <br /> Council <br />
