City Council Meeting Minutes April 15, 2014 <br />authorizing parking by permit only for the area consisting of: the 600 block of Burt Street <br />(from Maury Street to the end of Burt Street); the 600 and 700 blocks of Maury Street <br />(from Rogers Street to Burt Street) and the 500 block of Hanson Street (from Blanco <br />Street to Maury Street); amending the traffic register to reflect such designated permit <br />area; and providing for an effective date. <br />A motion was made to approve Ordinance 2014 -21. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council <br />Member Thomason, Council Member Scott and Council Member Prather <br />Against: 0 <br />Abstain: 1 - Council Member Prewitt <br />8. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -22, on the second of two readings, amending the <br />City's 2013 -2014 Fiscal Year Budget to budget expenditures in the total sum of $5,420.00 <br />from State Seized Asset Funds to provide funding for forensic laboratory services under <br />an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Austin, Texas; and providing an effective date. <br />9. Consider approval of Resolution 2014 -48R, approving the submittal of the 2014 Revised <br />Water Conservation Plan and revised 2014 Drought Response Plan to the Texas Water <br />Development Board; and declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Thomason, seconded by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, to <br />approve Resolution 2014 -48R, as previously captioned. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council <br />Member Thomason, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and Council <br />Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />10. Consider approval of Resolution 2014 -49R awarding an annual contract to Central Waste <br />and Recycling for Street Sweeping Services in the estimated annual amount of <br />$49,104.00 contingent upon the bidder's timely submission of sufficient insurance in <br />accordance with the City's bid documents; authorizing the Purchasing Manager to execute <br />the appropriate purchasing documents on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective <br />date. <br />Direction to staff is for City Manager to provide services through this fiscal year and renegotiate <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, seconded by Council Member Scott, to approve <br />Resolution 2014 -49R, as previously captioned, with conditions to allow the City Manager to execute <br />upon renegotiation of contract.
