Development Code, and other relevant topics. The purpose of these meetings is to
review the emerging details and receive immediate focused feedback from all
stakeholders. Additional meetings with key stakeholders such as property owners,
developers, neighborhood associations, and local merchants within Code Areas will be
held to ensure their plan objectives are reflected.
3) Meetings in all character study Areas (Up to 12 total). Hold character study area
meetings in study areas as part of the technical meetings to ensure plan elements meet
the needs of each code area. The Consultant will hold hands -on design sessions as
described above in key character study areas (approximately 4).
4) Draft Regulating Plans and Visualizations. During the charrette week, create regulating
plans of the Code Areas and illustrative plans (visualizations) of urban design
characteristics such as massing, density and land use, transportation options, open
space and recreation, and economic development opportunities. In addition, the
Consultant will create illustrations, ground level and aerial perspective drawings, and
diagrams that present emerging concepts in the open design studio in order to obtain
immediate feedback from City staff and the community. The Consultant will create
visualizations to provide "change over time" sequences of new and infill proposals,
redevelopment strategies, and streetscape improvements. Finally, the Consultant will
ensure that draft regulating plans and visualizations are accessible throughout the week
to allow casual feedback, and will be presented at the end of the week for more formal
community input.
5) Charrette Draft Template of Code SMTX and New Technical Manual. During the
charrette week, the Consultant's team will create templates for Code SMTX and a new
Technical Manual. During the charrette The Consultant will work with the City to draft
details for inclusion in the Code SMTX and the technical manual.
6) Public Open House. At a mid -point during the charrette, host a public open house. The
Consultant will make plans, visualizations, and implementation strategies available to
the public for review and discussion. This allows an additional opportunity for the
public to provide feedback on the Code as it develops.
7) Work -in- Progress Presentation. At the conclusion of the charrette, the Consultant and
the City will present the week's work at a "Work -in- Progress" presentation to the
public. At this presentation, the Consultant and the City will present ideas generated
for Code SMTX including the draft regulating plans and visualizations, areas for
strategic development, and next steps for the Project. The Consultant will hold a
question and answer session following the presentation. During the work -in- progress
presentation, utilize keypad polling to generate real -time survey results and opinion
polls from members of the audience. The Consultant will track response information
and view results during the presentation to determine if the Code is on target.
DKP Agrccment
9
