<br />Employer" is a company whose goods, services and shipments are ultimately exported to statewide, <br />national or international markets, infusing new dollars into the economy of the City. <br />C. Small Business Economic Development. The Chamber will continue its efforts in <br />working with prospects that are small businesses. For the purpose of this agreement a small business <br />shall mean shall mean any business whose gross annual revenues do not exceed $500,000. The <br />services offered to small businesses shall include evaluating the immediate needs of such prospects <br />and assisting them in finding resources appropriate to their needs. The Chamber will work with the <br />Economic Services Director to facilitate educational events that communicate the efforts of the City, <br />the Chamber and Economic Development San Marcos to the public regarding their collaborative <br />efforts in working towards established economic development goals. <br />D. Initial Contact. The Chamber agrees to function as the City's initial contact for <br />prospective and current employers and businesses in matters related to economic development. <br />E. Office. The Chamber agrees to maintain an office located within the San Marcos city <br />limits that meets ADA requirements for accessibility and is staffed from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., <br />Monday through Friday, excluding City-recognized holidays. <br />F. Economic Development Director. <br />1. The Chamber agrees to employ Kim Moore as the full-time Economic Development <br />Director to serve as the Chamber's manager for the performance of services under this <br />Agreement, and to act as principal liaison to the Board, City Council and City staff on <br />economic development matters. <br />2. The Chamber agrees that the hiring of the Economic Development Director by the <br />Chamber, and the salary and benefits provided by the Chamber to the Economic <br />Development Director, will be subject to approval by the City Council. The Chamber <br />also agrees that the City Council will have authority to require the Chamber to remove <br />the person holding the position of Economic Development Director from that position for <br />any reason deemed sufficient to the Council. In the event of any such removal, the <br />Chamber, after consultation with the Board, shall promptly recommend a replacement for <br />approval by the City Council. <br /> <br />Page 2 of8 <br />
