Regular Meeting September 4, 2007 Page 3 <br />was for members to get together and share incorporating energy efficiency. <br />She also sated she attended an organizational meeting for a non - profit <br />retirement center on August 27, 2007. Ms. Robertson stated Friday, <br />September 7, 2007, is the Nature Scape Opening at the Activity Center, when <br />the winners of the photography contest will be announced. 2) Mr. Thomaides <br />stated he read in the paper about the young man who was beaten in our <br />community, and he wished the young man a speedy recovery. He also stated <br />this was senseless violence. 3) Mr. Bose stated he attended the opening of <br />The Bike Cave on Friday, August 31, 2007. He stated he also attended the <br />San Marcos Rattlers Football game on Friday, August 31, 2007. He <br />encouraged the community to support the students and attend their sporting <br />events. 4) Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended the Morningside Ministries <br />Group regarding a retirement center. She stated a study may need to be <br />done. Mayor Narvaiz stated she attended Commissioners Court were a status <br />on FM110 was provided. She stated she meet with Judge Sumter and <br />Commissioner Ingalsbe, who will be writing a letter to TxDOT regarding the <br />City's interest in FM110. She stated once TxDOT receives the letter, then <br />the Commissioners will come back with options. Mayor Narvaiz stated she <br />received an email from Bill LaForge regarding the tough situation in <br />Washington with federal appropriations. She also applauded the Texas State <br />Bobcats for their win. She stated she was encouraged to see all the <br />students who came out to support their school. She also stated she was <br />thankful to hear that football players who do wrong are removed from the <br />roster. Mayor Narvaiz thanked the 35 -40 freshmen who attended the kick -off <br />meeting for Bobcat Build. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Special Meeting held August 16, 2008, approval of minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held April 21, 2007, approval of one Ordinance on second reading, <br />adoption of three Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of six <br />Resolutions, and approval of Change Order No. 3 (final), in the amount <br />$212,081.15 with Texas Sterling Construction, L.P. for the Craddock Avenue <br />Paving and Drainage Improvements Project, on consent. The Council pulled <br />Item 13 and 15, adoption of Ordinances on third and final reading, Items 16 <br />and 17, adoption of Resolution, and Item 24, and approval of Change Order <br />No. 3 (final), in the amount $212,081.15 with Texas Sterling Construction, <br />L.P. for the Craddock Avenue Paving and Drainage Improvements Project, to <br />be considered separately. Mr. Thomaides moved for approval of minutes of <br />the Special Meeting held August 16, 2008, approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held April 21, 2007, approval of one Ordinance on second <br />reading, adoption of one Ordinance on third and final reading adoption of <br />the remaining four Resolutions, on consent, and Ms. Couch seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously.
