City Council Meeting Minutes May 20, 2014 <br />For: 6 - Mayor Pro -Tern Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council Member <br />Thomason, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and Council Member <br />Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 1 - Mayor Guerrero <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS - 7:00 PM <br />14. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -29, on the second of two readings, creating a <br />Designated Permit Area under Section 82.189 of the San Marcos City Code <br />authorizing parking by permit only at all times for a portion of the 100 block of Elm Hill <br />Court east of North LBJ Drive; amending the Traffic Register to reflect such <br />Designated Permit Area; and providing for an effective date. <br />Sabas Avila, Assistant Director of Public Services, provided a brief presentation to Council. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Thomaides opened the Public Hearing at: 7:14 p.m. <br />There being no comments, the Mayor Pro Tern closed the Public Hearing at 7:14 p.m. <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, seconded by Council Member Prather, that <br />this Ordinance be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 5 - Mayor Pro-Tern Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council Member <br />Thomason, Council Member Prather and Council Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 2 - Mayor Guerrero and Council Member Scott <br />15. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -30, on the second of two readings, creating a <br />Designated Permit Area under Section 82.189 of the San Marcos City Code <br />authorizing parking by permit only from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through <br />Friday, for the 400 and 500 blocks of Blanco Street; amending . the Traffic Register to <br />reflect such designated permit area; and providing for an effective date. <br />Sabas Avila, Assistant Director of Public Services, provided a brief presentation to Council. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Thomaides opened the Public Hearing at: 7:16 p.m. <br />There being no comments, the Mayor Pro Tom closed the Public Hearing at 7:16 p.m. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Thomason, seconded by Council Member Prewitt, that <br />this Ordinance be approved.
