Regular Meeting August 6, 2007 Page 9 <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding submitting Resolutions to <br />TML for consideration at the TML Annual Conference and direction to Staff. <br />Mayor Narvaiz stated the City has submitted some Resolutions in the past. <br />Mr. Jones stated he would like to see a Resolution regarding the support of <br />the commuter rail. Mayor Narvaiz stated she is not sure if this can be <br />done as a Resolution, but the City could write a letter of support. Mr. <br />Thomaides inquired to what the Resolution Committee is looking for. Mayor <br />Narvaiz stated she feels the City needs to promote an issue that both small <br />and large cities are interested in. Mr. Guerrero stated he would like to <br />see Resolutions regarding affordable housing and workforce development <br />issues. Mayor Narvaiz stated she would like to see a Resolution regarding <br />literacy. Mr. Thomaides stated he would like to see a Resolution regarding <br />transportation and safe bridge issues. Mr. Bose stated he would like to see <br />a Resolution regarding water conservation issues. Mr. Jones stated he <br />would like to see a Resolution written supporting Cities to have economic <br />development funds to apply for. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government <br />Section 551.074 to discuss duties of public officers or employees (City <br />Attorney and City Clerk); the employment of a public officer or employee <br />(Economic Development). The Council adjourned into Executive Session at <br />9:04 p.m. <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 10:20 p.m. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session.
