City Council Meeting Minutes June 3, 2014 <br />Kelvon Hanson provided a brief presentation of the activities and accomplishments of the Arts <br />Commission during the past year. <br />4. Receive a Staff presentation regarding the possible closure of N. LBJ at Sessom Drive <br />for a period of 2 months, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Shaun Condor, Project Engineer, provided a presentation regarding the closure of N. LBJ at <br />Sessom Drive for 2 months. Council gave consensus to move forward with 2 Phase option. <br />6:00 PM <br />V. Invocation <br />VI. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas <br />VII. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Rob Roark, San Marcos, addressed the Council regarding the upcoming events in the summer in <br />the City and during the Council sessions. He encouraged everyone to come and speak during <br />the Citizens' Comment period. He was concerned with the Water/Wastewater Fund and that the <br />rate will probably have to be adjusted. He stated that we need to be looking at the priorities and <br />using our master plan and to follow that plan. <br />Monna Carperter - Barin, addressed the Council regarding water fluoridation and spoke against <br />the recent information that has been previously stated and stated that they are myths. She <br />addressed those myths and also stated that she would be providing additional information <br />regarding to care vs. water fluoridation. <br />Lee Wallace, addressed the Council regarding the La Cima development agreement and was <br />concerned about the environmental concerns, how would the City of San Marcos oversee this? <br />At this point he feels we just don't know the risks of PIDs. He loves La Cima plan, but they say <br />that the Corporate Campus would be commuters to and from Austin or San Antonio. Blanco <br />Vista is not built out and those people may just go there. They would be using our resources <br />and not paying taxes for a long time. <br />Diana Gonzales, addressed the Council to invite anyone that may be a PEC Member to their <br />investors meeting coming up in Cedar Park on June 21st at the Cedar Park High School and <br />Leander Performing Arts Center starting at 10:30AM. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A motion was made by Council Member Prather, seconded by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, that <br />the consent agenda be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, <br />Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and <br />Council Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />5.
