<br />12 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />January 9, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration Item 5, a public <br />hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP) OF THE MASTER <br />PLAN OF SAID CITY, OF 11.35 ACRES CONSISTING OF 13 LOTS IN <br />THE SOUTH PARK COMMERCIAL SUBDIVISION, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED ALONG THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF IH35 <br />SOUTH BETWEEN CENTERPOINT ROAD AND POSEY ROAD, FROM <br />UNDESIGNATED TO INDUSTRIAL; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak for or against the land use change. No one did, so <br />Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for <br />adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration Item 4, a public <br />hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY ZONING 3.35 <br />ACRES, BEING THAT PORTION OF 13 LOTS IN THE SOUTH PARK <br />COMMERCIAL SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />LOCATED ALONG THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF IH35 SOUTH BETWEEN <br />CENTERPOINT ROAD AND POSEY ROAD, FROM "AR" <br />(AGRICULTURAL-RANCH DISTRICT) TO "LI" (LIGHT INDUSTRIAL <br />DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption <br />of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an <br />Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED AUGUST 29, 1988, <br />WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF THE EXPENSE OF <br />CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING <br />OCTOBER 1, 1988 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1989, AND <br />APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF <br />SUCH ESTIMATE, TO REVISE SAID ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE <br />SAID FUNDS, ADOPTING SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and <br />Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 5, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING <br />REGULATIONS, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE <br />ADOPTION OF ARTICLE VIII, STANDARD EXISTING BUILDING CODE, <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
