<br />14 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />January 9, 1989 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Morris then introduced for consideration adoption of the <br />Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, DECLARING THAT THE CITY ELECTS TO BECOME ELIGIBLE TO <br />PARTICIPATE IN OFFERING TAX ABATEMENT UNDER THE PROPERTY <br />REDEVELOPMENT AND TAX ABATEMENT ACT AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the minutes <br />of the Regular Meeting held December 16, 1988, approval of the <br />minutes of the Special Meeting held December 22, 1988, approval <br />of an Ordinance on second reading, adoption of an Ordinance on <br />third and final reading, adoption of a Resolution and <br />authorization for approval of a $500.00 appropriation from the <br />San Marcos Electric Fund Contingency Account for the NOMAD <br />organization by consensus. <br />Mr. Brown moved for approval of the minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting held December 16, 1988 (Mr. Plummer and Ms. Kissler <br />abstaining), approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting held <br />December 22, 1988 (Ms. Kissler abstaining), approval of the <br />Ordinance on second reading, adoption of the Ordinance on third <br />and final reading, adoption of the Resolution, and for <br />authorization for approval of $500.00 appropriation from the San <br />Marcos Electric Fund Contingency Account for the NOMAD <br />organization by consensus, and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. The captions of the Ordinances and <br />Resolutions read as follows: <br /> <br />Approval of Ordinance on second reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, REPEALING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED ON THIRD READING ON <br />DECEMBER 12, 1988, WHICH AMENDED SECTION 16-3 OF ARTICLE 1 <br />OF CHAPTER 16, MISCELLANEOUS OFFENSES AND PROVISIONS, OF THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />PROTECTION OF PERSONS USING PUBLIC WATERS IN SPRINGLAKE AND <br />PROHIBITING VIOLATIONS OF LAW ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF <br />PUBLIC WATERS IN SPRINGLAKE, AND ADOPTING A NEW ORDINANCE <br />RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Adoption of Ordinance on third and final reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, TRAFFIC, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES DELETING UNNECESSARY LANGUAGE AND ALTERING <br />INAPPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Adoption of Resolution: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING A STATEMENT OF CASH MANAGEMENT AND <br />INVESTMENT POLICIES FOR THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration authorization to bid an <br />atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Mr. Guerra moved for <br />authorization to bid and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration authorization to bid a <br />submersible sewage pump. Mr. Hernandez moved for authorization <br />to bid and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />
