City Council Meeting Minutes July 1, 2014 vote: For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and Council Member Prewitt Against: 0 NON - CONSENT AGENDA 18. Consider approval of Ordinance 2014 -41, on the first of two readings, amending Section 2.069(c)(2) of the San Marcos City Code, to provide that a Board or Commission Member's absence from a meeting due to a vacation will no longer be considered an excused absence; including procedural provisions; and providing an effective date. A motion was made by Council Member Scott, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, that this Ordinance be approved, on the first of two readings. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak, Council Member Thomason, Council Member Scott and Council Member Prewitt Against: 0 Absent: 1 - Council Member Prather 19. Consider appointments to the Code SMTX Committee, and provide direction to Staff. The following people were appointed to the Code SMTX Technical Committee: Engineer /Transportation -- David Singleton Environmental -- Tom Wassenich Planner /Architect -- Sophia Nelson Neighborhood /Historic -- Diann McCabe Local Business Owner -- Patrick Rose Builder /Construction -- Shawn Dupont Real Estate -- John David Carson Other -- Chris Woods Other -- Thomas Rhodes A motion was made by Council Member Becak, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, that this item be reconsidered.
