<br /> § 5.113 Bun-DINGS AND BUll-DING REGULATIONS § 5-126 <br /> circumstances, is for any reason held to be invalid or uncon- <br /> stitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, the validity of <br /> the remainder of this article, or of its application to other persons <br /> or sets of circumstances, shall not be affected. It is the intent <br /> of the city council in adopting this article that portion of it or <br /> provision or regulation contained in it shall become inoperative <br /> or fail by reason of any unconstitutionality or invalidity of any <br /> other portion, provision or regulation. SPECIFICATIONS FOR OFF-STREET <br /> PARKING LOT PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION. <br /> Sec. 5-126. Subbase. <br /> (a) Generally. This item shall govern the placement and com- <br /> paction of all materials obtained from roadway, horrow, channel <br /> and structural excavation for utilization in the construction of <br /> off-street parking lots. <br /> (b) Construction methods. The area shall be cleared of stumps, <br /> brush, logs, rubbish, trees and shrubs, except trees and shrubs in <br /> certain areas designated by the engineer for preservation. Those <br /> trees, shrubs and other landscape features specifically designated <br /> by the engineer for preservation shall be carefully protected from <br /> abuse, marring and damage during construction. Trees and shrubs <br /> designated for preservation that must be pruned shall be trimmed <br /> as directed and all exposed cuts over two (2) inches in diameter <br /> shall be treated with an approved asphaltic material. <br /> Areas required for parking lot construction shall be cleared <br /> and grubbed of all stumps and roots (except for designateêi trees <br /> and shrubs). Stump holes or other small excavations in the limits <br /> of the construction shall be backfilled with suitable material and <br /> -Editor's note-Part 10 of Ord. No. 1987-144, adopted Nov. 9, 1987, deleted <br /> Em. C of App. A, General Zoning Ordinance, and adopted the provisions of said <br /> Exh. C as Art. VI orCh. 5. Sections 1-3 offormer Exh.
