He stated there are two homes on his street <br />that have more than two unrelated residents. He encouraged the Council to <br />have the Ordinances that are in place enforced. 4) James Lesage stated he <br />is a resident of the Sagewood area and a Professor at the University. He <br />offered his service in help with the Sagewood area problems. He encouraged <br />the Council to move towards a cleanup of this area. 5) Sherri Bilson <br />stated she feels the brochure that was provided at the Sagewood Community <br />Meeting was very informative. She stated she feels one of the biggest <br />problems with these issues is the current Ordinance. She also stated there <br />should be rules and when they are broken the individuals should be <br />punished. She also encouraged the Council to create Ordinances that layout <br />punishment. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated the phone <br />lines in Hays County have been down all day and are not expected to be up <br />for another 12 hours. He stated a construction company was drilling holes <br />in the Kyle area. A construction worker was attacked and stung by bees and <br />jumped off the tractor, hitting the hydraulic lever lowering the auger. <br />The auger continued to drill and cut the fiber optic line. If you have an <br />emergency please call 753 -2107. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Report. 1) Mayor Narvaiz thanked <br />everyone who attended the multi - neighborhood meeting held on September 17, <br />2007. She also thanked Dr. Trauth, Parks Department, Administration <br />Department, Main Street, Rebecca Ramirez and the City Clerk's Office for <br />their hard work with hosting the NLC F.A.I.R. Committee this last week. <br />Mayor Narvaiz also reminded the citizens of the Downtown Master Plan <br />Workshop being held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the <br />Activity Center. Mayor Narvaiz also reminded the citizens of the POW /MIA <br />Musical Tribute scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. in <br />the Park. 2) Donavon Knight stated the Junior and Senior G Force has began <br />their process of encouraging High School students to attend college. He <br />also introduced Casey Moore as the new Texas State Liaison. 3) Ms. <br />Robertson stated she attended several of the F.A.I.R. events. She stated <br />most of these Cities have to deal with the same issues San Marcos does. <br />Ms. Robertson also encouraged the citizens to attend the Downtown Master <br />Plan on Thursday, September 20, 2007. 4) Mr. Jones reviewed what he felt <br />are the characteristics of a citizen of San Marcos. He stated these <br />characteristics apply to the students of the University as well other <br />residents of San Marcos. 5) Mr. Bose thanked the Mayor for hosting the NLC <br />F.A.I.R. Committee. He said he had the opportunity to discuss <br />transportation and growth issues with several other cities. He stated he <br />also attended the San Marcos Baptist Academy Celebration. Mr. Bose also <br />thanked the Lions Club for being great ambassadors for the City of San <br />Marcos. 6) Ms. Couch stated she attended the 9 -11 memorial service at Cit <br />Hall.
