ATTACHMENT A <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />CRYSTAL CLEAR CCN WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Project Understanding <br />The work to be performed by Kimley -Hom and Associates, Inc. (KIMLEY -HORN or the Consultant) under <br />this contract will consist of providing Preliminary Engineering, Final Design, Bid and Construction Phase <br />Services for the Crystal Clear CCN Water Line Improvements Project. The project consists of the <br />following improvements: <br />• Hunter Road 8 -Inch Water Line Extension — extension of approximately 2,500 linear feet of 8 -inch <br />water line from the intersection of Hunter Road and E. McCarty Lane to near the intersection of <br />Hunter Road and S. Reimer Avenue. <br />• E. McCarty Lane 12 -Inch Water Line Extension — extension of approximately 1,200 linear feet of <br />12 -inch water line from the intersection of E. McCarty Lane and Barnes Drive to the north side of <br />the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing along E. McCarty Lane. The feasibility of extending <br />a 6 -foot wide sidewalk across the UPRR right -of -way will also be evaluated for this segment. <br />• W. De Zavala Drive 8 -Inch Water Line Replacement — replacement of approximately 900 linear <br />feet of 8 -inch asbestos cement water line from the intersection of W. De Zavala Drive and State <br />Highway 123 to the intersection of W. De Zavala Drive and Sunflower Lane. This segment will <br />also include the installation of approximately 375 linear feet of 4 -foot wide sidewalk. <br />Basic Scope of Services <br />Phase A — Preliminary Phase (30 %) <br />1. Project Management and QA/QC: This task consists of performing all work necessary to provide <br />project administration, coordination with City staff, coordination and supervision of the project <br />team, coordination with other projects, and quality management so that project milestones and <br />deliverables meet schedule and budget constraints. <br />2. Meetings <br />a. Project Meetings: KIMLEY -HORN will prepare for and attend a meeting with the City to <br />kick off the project (1 kick -off meeting) and to review the 30% plan submittal (1 project <br />meeting). <br />b. UPRR Meeting: KIMLEY -HORN will prepare for and attend up to one (1) with UPRR to <br />review and discuss the proposed concept plans for potential sidewalk crossing at the E. <br />McCarty Lane site. <br />3. Data Collection /Review <br />a. Review Reports /Studies/Drawings: KIMLEY -HORN will obtain and review reports, <br />studies, as- builts, and other data related to the project. A base map of the project area <br />will be developed using available information. The base map will include aerial <br />photography, topography, parcels, right -of -way, existing water, wastewater, and electric <br />lines from the City's GIS system, FEMA floodplain, and other appropriate data. The base <br />map will be utilized by the project team during Phase A of the project. <br />b. Site Visits: Site visits will be performed to verify project conditions and familiarize the <br />team with the project area. One visit per project site is assumed. Site visit to E. McCarty <br />Lane site will include review of UPRR field geometrics and railroad crossing panels. <br />
