ATTACHMENT A <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />CRYSTAL CLEAR CCN WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />4. Field Investigations <br />a. Topographic Surveying: KIMLEY -HORN will provide surveying services for the project. <br />A horizontal and vertical survey, based upon NAD 83 coordinates (State Plane Texas <br />South Central /Feet), will be performed. Survey will identify property lines, contours, <br />benchmarks, bores, topographic features, apparent locations of existing utilities (City and <br />franchise) marked on the surface by DIGTESS, and appurtenances such as manholes, <br />manhole inverts, sanitary sewer cleanouts, valve lid elevations, vaults, top of valve nut <br />elevations, fences, drainage structures, trees 8- inches and larger, existing easements, <br />etc. <br />5. Pipelines <br />a. Determine Alignments: Using the survey and other background information, KIMLEY - <br />HORN will evaluate and provide recommendations for the routes of the proposed water <br />lines. KIMLEY -HORN will evaluate workspace and analyze various construction methods <br />for improvements, including open trench and conventional boring, to determine the most <br />suitable solution for the project. <br />6. Other <br />a. Determine Easement/Land Acquisition Requirements: Based on the selected alignments <br />of the proposed water lines, KIMLEY -HORN will coordinate with the City to determine <br />required permanent and temporary easements for the project. <br />b. Determine Project Permitting /Design Requirements: KIMLEY -HORN will determine <br />project permitting and design requirements for local, state and federal entities. <br />c. Utility Providers: KIMLEY -HORN will coordinate with the City to determine utility service <br />providers in the vicinity of the project. <br />7. Deliverables: <br />a. Monthly Status Report. <br />b. 30% Plans. KIMLEY -HORN will prepare preliminary plans to include plan sheets (no <br />profiles) at 1"=40' horizontal on 11"x 17" plans. KIMLEY -HORN will provide two (2) hard <br />copies of 11" x 17" plan sets and one (1) pdf electronic copy. <br />c. Pedestrian Crossing Concept Plan. Develop a pedestrian crossing concept plan for the <br />UPRR crossing at the E. McCarty Lane site. <br />d. Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC). Develop preliminary <br />Opinions of Probable Construction Cost (OPCC) based on the information gathered <br />above. The OPCC will include the potential UPRR sidewalk crossing at the E. McCarty <br />Lane site. <br />e. Technical Memorandum. KIMLEY -HORN will prepare a Technical Memorandum that will <br />summarize the findings associated with Items 6a — 6d. Memorandum will include a <br />feasibility analysis of the potential sidewalk crossing at the E. McCarty Lane site. <br />f. 30% Comment Response Letter. <br />Phase B — Design Phase (60/90/100 %) <br />1. Project Management and QA/QC: This task consists of performing all work necessary to provide <br />project administration, coordination with City staff, coordination and supervision of the project team, <br />coordination with other projects, and quality management so that project milestones and <br />deliverables meet schedule and budget constraints. <br />2 <br />
