Regular Meeting June 19, 2007 Page 2 <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />received an update and provided direction regarding GBRA Bond Validation <br />Suit. The Council also received updates and provided direction regarding <br />development proposals in the Wonder World Drive area and Reimer area. He <br />stated the Council will continue the Executive Session after the Regular <br />Meeting. <br />Pastor Robin Steel of the Promiseland Church lead the Invocation. <br />Mayor Narvaiz led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Rodney <br />Vanouderkerke, Leadership San Marcos, thanked the Council for their support <br />in funding and encouragement with the statue of Chief Placido. He stated <br />the statue has not been delivered yet, but there has been allot of <br />inquiries. 2) Peter Baen stated he wished to speak on Item 40, discussion <br />regarding FM 110. He stated two weeks ago he addressed Commissioner Court <br />regarding the unanimous support from the School Board on FM 110. He <br />stated he did not address Hwy 21. He also stated he feels activists need <br />to determine the difference between voters and those who voted. 3) David <br />Chiu stated he wished to speak on Item 40, regarding FM 110. He stated <br />this project began in the 1970s and has been discussed even when he was the <br />Mayor. He stated the main thoroughfares can't handle the traffic anymore. <br />4) Bobbye Meek stated she wished to speak on Item 39, discussion regarding <br />the CIP. She stated she sent an email with photographs on flooding issues. <br />She stated she purchased the property, which later began to flooded. After <br />investigating where the water was coming from she found that it was run off <br />water. She stated this runoff water passes through between Hopkins and San <br />Antonio. She encouraged the Council to consider the drainage problem in <br />her neighborhood during the CIP process. 5) Ray Hernandez stated he wished <br />to speak on Item 42, regarding the renaming of a street. He stated he <br />brought a few family members. He stated his Mom had 11 children; 9 boys <br />and 2 girls. He also stated his Mom impacted a lot of people in San <br />Marcos. He also thanked the Council for considering the name change of <br />Invasion Street to Hernandez Street. 6) Patrick Kirwin stated he is the <br />Chair of the Beautification Committee. He stated he provided a packet <br />during the budget workshop, which laid out their goals. He stated they are <br />ready to go to work. 7) Dianne Wassenich stated she wished to speak on <br />Item 24, adoption of Resolution. She encouraged the Council to support the <br />Resolution. She stated if the Council needs more information, she <br />encouraged them to table the Resolution. 8) Patricia Alba stated she <br />wished to speak on Item 40, discussion regarding FM 110. She stated she is <br />confused about what she is hearing. She stated she feels if the loop goes <br />in, then we will have lots of housing construction, which will create more <br />congestion. She stated she is also confused about the difference in the <br />
