Regular Meeting March 6, 2007 Paget <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 6:59 p.m. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />received an update and provided direction regarding Economic Development <br />incentive proposals in the Uhland Road area, Hunter Road area and McCarty <br />Lane area. He stated the Council also provided direction regarding San <br />Marcos Chamber of Commerce. <br />Mayor Narvaiz led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. Mayor Narvaiz stated <br />no one had signed up to speak during Citizen Comment Period. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not have a <br />report at this time. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced City Council Report. 1) Mr. Jones stated he <br />regrets missing the Black history event; while he was in Washington, D.C. <br />for a Young Elected Officials Conference. He stated he has brought back <br />some information regarding Living Wages for the Council to consider. 2) <br />Ms. Robertson thanked the Alliance of Student Government for the luncheon <br />they held. 3) Pam Couch stated Texas Department of Transportation will be <br />holding a Public Hearing on March 8, 2007, at Carol Hall at the San Marcos <br />Baptist Academy. 3) Mr. Bose stated he attended the Black History Dinner <br />at the Dunbar Center on Saturday, March 3, 2007. 4) Mr. Bose also thanked <br />all the volunteers who helped clean up during the River Clean up. 5) Mayor <br />Narvaiz thanked Sam's for their pre- opening event where they gave away <br />checks to different Social Services. She stated the Grand Opening will be <br />held on Thursday, March 8, 2007. 6) Mayor Narvaiz stated on Thursday, <br />March 8, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, she will be <br />holding a discussion regarding the upcoming NLC events. 6) Mayor Narvaiz <br />congratulated the Fire Department for being on the cover of Fire <br />Publication regarding their Tourism Policing. 7) Donovan Knight thanked <br />Brenda Butler's 6th grade class for inviting the Alliance Student Government <br />to participate in a mock City Council meeting. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held February 20, 2007, adoption of one Ordinance on third <br />and final reading, and adoption of nine Resolutions, on consent. The <br />Council pulled Items 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, adoption of <br />Resolutions, to be considered separately. Mr. Jones moved for approval of <br />minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 20, 2007, adoption of one <br />Ordinance on third and final reading, and adoption of the remaining two <br />Resolutions, on consent, and Ms. Couch seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously.
