<br />153 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1980-21 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER <br />20, ENTITLED "PLUMBING CODE" OF THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY ADOPTING THE <br />1979 EDITION OF THE "STANDARD PLUMBING CODE"; <br />AMENDING SAID CODE TO PROVIDE A SCHEDULE OF <br />PERMIT FEES, TO SPECIFY THAT STATE LICENSING <br />PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED, TO REQUIRE A <br />BOND IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS <br />($1,000) FOR ~ffiSTER PLUMBERS AND TO PROVIDE <br />A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />desires to provide minimum requirements for safe plumbing installa- <br />tions so as to safeguard the life, health and public welfare and <br />to protect property, now, therefore; <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TE XAS : <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That there is hereby adopted by the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations <br />for the installation, including alterations, repairs and replace- <br />ment, of plumbing piping, fittings, fixtures, equipment and appur- <br />tenances which may be connected to the water or sewerage system in <br />said city, that certain plumbing code known as the "Standard <br />Plumbing Code," being particularly the 1979 Edition, published <br />in 1979 by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc. <br />900 Montclair Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35213, now and as herein- <br />after amended, of which a copy has been and now is filed in the <br />office of the City Secretary of the City of San Marcos, and the <br />same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out <br />herein. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the provisions of said Standard Plumbing <br />Code shall be controlling in the installation including alterations, <br />repairs and replacement, of plumbing piping, fittings, fixtures, <br />equipment and appurtenances which may be connected to the water <br />or sewerage system within the corporate limits of the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That subsection 106.3 (a) of said Standard <br />Plumbing Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Section 106.3 Schedule of Permit Fees <br /> <br />(a) On all plumbing work requiring a permit as <br />set forth in Section 104.1, a fee for each <br />plumbing permit shall be paid at the time <br />of approval of application. Fees shall be <br />as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1) Basic Permit Fee <br />For issuance of each permit <br /> <br />$5.00 <br /> <br />2) Additional Fees <br /> <br />a) For each plumbing fixture, water <br />heater, yard sewer line, water <br />service line <br /> <br />:$1.00 <br /> <br />b) For each lawn sprinkler system <br /> <br />$5.00 <br />$10.00 <br /> <br />c) For each fire sprinkler system <br />
