153 ORDINANCE NO. 1980-21 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING CHAPTER 20, ENTITLED "PLUMBING CODE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY ADOPTING THE 1979 EDITION OF THE "STANDARD PLUMBING CODE"; AMENDING SAID CODE TO PROVIDE A SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES, TO SPECIFY THAT STATE LICENSING PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED, TO REQUIRE A BOND IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000) FOR ~ffiSTER PLUMBERS AND TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas desires to provide minimum requirements for safe plumbing installa- tions so as to safeguard the life, health and public welfare and to protect property, now, therefore; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TE XAS : I SECTION 1. That there is hereby adopted by the City of San Marcos, Texas, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the installation, including alterations, repairs and replace- ment, of plumbing piping, fittings, fixtures, equipment and appur- tenances which may be connected to the water or sewerage system in said city, that certain plumbing code known as the "Standard Plumbing Code," being particularly the 1979 Edition, published in 1979 by the Southern Building Code Congress International, Inc. 900 Montclair Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35213, now and as herein- after amended, of which a copy has been and now is filed in the office of the City Secretary of the City of San Marcos, and the same is hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out herein. SECTION 2. That the provisions of said Standard Plumbing Code shall be controlling in the installation including alterations, repairs and replacement, of plumbing piping, fittings, fixtures, equipment and appurtenances which may be connected to the water or sewerage system within the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas. SECTION 3. That subsection 106.3 (a) of said Standard Plumbing Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 106.3 Schedule of Permit Fees (a) On all plumbing work requiring a permit as set forth in Section 104.1, a fee for each plumbing permit shall be paid at the time of approval of application. Fees shall be as follows: I 1) Basic Permit Fee For issuance of each permit $5.00 2) Additional Fees a) For each plumbing fixture, water heater, yard sewer line, water service line :$1.00 b) For each lawn sprinkler system $5.00 $10.00 c) For each fire sprinkler system
