Replacements of sewer, water or drain lines <br />shall be treated as new installations for <br />purposes of inspection and fee requirements. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That Section 101 of said Standard Plumbing Code <br />be and is hereby amended by adding a subsection, to be numbered <br />101.6 which said subsection reads as follows: <br /> <br />101.6 Licensing and Bonding of Persons Installing <br />Plumbing Who Are Not Exempted From Such <br />Requirements By Section 101.5 <br /> <br />(a) All persons performing plumbing work or contracting <br />to perform plumbing work within the corporate limits <br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas shall be licensed <br />as required by the Texas Plumbing License Law of <br />1947. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />A person who is a Master Plumber within the meaning <br />of the Texas Plumbers License Law of 1947 and who <br />desires a permit for plumbing work within the corporate <br />limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas shall furnish <br />an indemnity bond in the amount of one thousand dollars <br />($1,000.00) to protect the City of San Marcos from <br />liability that might accrue because of injury to the <br />public in connection with said plumbing work. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 5. That Section 110- Violations and Penalties of <br />said Standard Plumbing Code be and the same is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 110- Violations and Penalties <br /> <br />"Any person, firm, corporation, or agent who shall <br />violate a provision of this code, or fail to comply <br />therewith, or with any of the provisions thereof, <br />or violate a detailed statement or plans submitted <br />and approved thereunder shall be guilty of a mis- <br />demeanor. Each said person shall be deemed guilty <br />of a separate offense for each and every day or <br />portion thereof during which any violation of any of <br />the provisions of this code is committed, or continued <br />and upon conviction in the municipal court for any <br />such violation such person shall be punished by a fine <br />of not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00). <br /> <br />SECTION 6. That the importance of this ordinance creates an <br />an emergency and an imperative purpose necessary that the-pro- I <br />visions of the charter requiring that ordinances shall be read on <br />three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become <br />effecti ve until the expiration of ten (10) 'days following <br />the date of its final passage be suspended, and these provisions <br />are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and <br />be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publica- <br />tion in a newspaper of general circulation within the City. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED <br /> <br />
