The Council adjourned into Executive Session at 6:02 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 7:00 p.m. (See Page <br />7 for continuation of Executive Session) . <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />gave direction on the contract with GMG. He stated the Council received <br />advice from the City Attorney and provided direction regarding the <br />CenturyTel Pole Attachment Agreement and Loop 110/Wonder World Drive <br />Extension Projects. He stated the Council also provided direction on an <br />economic development proposal In the North IH35 area. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Tom McNair stated <br />he wanted to speak to the Council as a Columnist. He stated he feels he <br />must protect himself to ensure his credibility. He stated he referenced a <br />Council Member in regard to the transportation of dogs in vehicles <br />discussion where there was a comparison of animal to a son. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. 1) Mr. O'Leary stated the State <br />of Texas is in a drought with high fire conditions. He stated the Federal <br />Government is using the City Municipal Airport to base their Forest Fire <br />Tankers in case of fires in this area. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Thomaides stated <br />he serves on the Commuter Rail Board and their meeting was postponed to <br />February 3, 2006, in San Antonio at 10:00 a.m. 2) Mr. Guerrero <br />congratulated the University of Texas and their alumni on winning the <br />National Championship. 3) Mayor Narvaiz stated the Edwards Aquifer will be <br />hosting a meeting at 1:00 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center on <br />Wednesday, January 11, 2006. 4) Kyle Morris stated he is organizing an <br />Open House at the University, so Student Government Officials can meet the <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration approval of minutes of Regular <br />Meeting held December 7, 2005, approval of minutes of Special Meeting held II <br />December 14, 2005, approval of minutes of Regular Meeting held December 14, <br />2005, adoption of four Resolutions, and receive and consider approval of <br />
