The Council adjourned into Executive Session at 6:02 p.m. Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 7:00 p.m. (See Page 7 for continuation of Executive Session) . Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council gave direction on the contract with GMG. He stated the Council received advice from the City Attorney and provided direction regarding the CenturyTel Pole Attachment Agreement and Loop 110/Wonder World Drive Extension Projects. He stated the Council also provided direction on an economic development proposal In the North IH35 area. Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Tom McNair stated he wanted to speak to the Council as a Columnist. He stated he feels he must protect himself to ensure his credibility. He stated he referenced a Council Member in regard to the transportation of dogs in vehicles discussion where there was a comparison of animal to a son. I Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. 1) Mr. O'Leary stated the State of Texas is in a drought with high fire conditions. He stated the Federal Government is using the City Municipal Airport to base their Forest Fire Tankers in case of fires in this area. Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Mr. Thomaides stated he serves on the Commuter Rail Board and their meeting was postponed to February 3, 2006, in San Antonio at 10:00 a.m. 2) Mr. Guerrero congratulated the University of Texas and their alumni on winning the National Championship. 3) Mayor Narvaiz stated the Edwards Aquifer will be hosting a meeting at 1:00 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center on Wednesday, January 11, 2006. 4) Kyle Morris stated he is organizing an Open House at the University, so Student Government Officials can meet the City Council.
