The developers would need to get permission from FEMA. Mr. <br />Thomaides stated he feels this development would impact floods. Ms. <br />Barrett stated the City requires on-site detention. Mr. Bose stated the <br />map shows part of this development is in the 100-year floodplain. Mr. <br />Ramsey stated Baker-Aiklen will demonstrate to FEMA that they can manage <br />floodwaters, and they are requesting FEMA move the floodplain lines. No one did, so Mayor Narvaiz closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance, and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Bose stated he feels since a part of this <br />proposed development is located in the floodplain, it will have a larger <br />impact on flooding costs. Mr. O'Leary stated this proposed development <br />meets the City construction development standards. Mr. Guerrero inquired <br />as to the difference between the 100-year floodplain and 500-year <br />floodplain. Mr. O'Leary stated the 100-year design storm and the 500-year <br />design storm have a .02% chance of occurring. He stated in San Marcos you <br />can development within the 500-year floodplain. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />I <br />
