<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 20, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 1l <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration reconsideration of two <br />lordinances. The Council did not wish to reconsider these Ordinances. The <br />captions read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP FOR THE FOLLOWING TRACTS ON THE WEST <br />SIDE OF THE 2700 BLOCK OF IH-35 NORTH: FROM OPEN SPACE TO MIXED USE <br />FOR A 0.981 ACRE TRACT, FROM COMMERCIAL TO MIXED USE FOR A 40.208 ACRE <br />TRACT, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 29.710 ACRE <br />TRACT, FROM PARKLAND/OPEN SPACE TO COMMERCIAL FOR A 2.544 ACRE TRACT; <br />FROM COMMERCIAL TO OPEN SPACE FOR A 0.083 ACRE TRACT, AND FROM HIGH <br />DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO OPEN SPACE FOR 2.019 ACRE AND 0.063 ACRE <br />TRACTS; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THE <br />FOLLOWING TRACTS ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE 2700 BLOCK OF IH-35 NORTH: <br />FROM "CC" COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT AND "FD" FUTURE DEVELOPMENT <br />DISTRICT TO "MU" MIXED USE DISTRICT FOR A 41.189 ACRE TRACT, FROM "MF- <br />18" MULTIPLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND "P" PUBLIC AND <br />INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT TO "CC" COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL DISTRICT FOR A <br />34.254 ACRE TRACT, FROM "MF-18" MULTIPLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT <br />AND "FD" FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL <br />DISTRICT FOR A 58.549 ACRE TRACT, AND FROM "MF-18" MULTIPLE-FAMILY <br />RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND "FD" FUTURE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO "MF-24" <br />MULTIPLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT FOR A 15.065 ACRE TRACT; <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ADDING A "PD" PLANNED <br />DEVELOPMENT OVERLAY DISTRICT FOR A 239.396 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY ON <br />THE WEST SIDE OF THE 2700 BLOCK OF IH-35 NORTH (BLANCO RIVERWALK <br />PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT); APPROVING A LAND USE PLAN AND <br />DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding update on the Hopkins <br />Sidewalk Pedestrian Bridge Project and direction to Staff. Richard <br />Mendoza, Director of Public Works, provided a powerpoint presentation <br />regarding Hopkins Street Pedestrian Bridge Project. Mr. Thomaides stated <br />he feels since the engineer's construction cost estimate for Phase I <br />exceeds the budget by $46,000.00, the project can be reduced in others way <br />than making the width of the project smaller. He suggested not paving the <br />additional walkways. Mayor Narvaiz inquired whether the engineer knew of <br />the City budget restraints while working on this design. Mr. Mendoza <br />stated the engineers were aware of the budget restraints. He also stated <br />some adjustments can be made to the project. He stated he is currently <br />Iwaiting on the bids to come in to review the cost. <br />
