<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />July 3, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />with a copy of a Loop Bike Rack picture and stated he would like to create <br />a "Rack it up" project. He stated he has also noticed there are no I <br />sidewalks up to the proposed bridge over the river and from Aquarena to Ri <br />Vista Falls. Mr. Thomaides stated he feels bike racks should be located at <br />all City facilities. He stated he feels the City could buy the bike racks <br />and local businesses sponsor the racks or purchase them at the City's cost. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin stated he would like Staff to research the cost of the bike <br />racks and sidewalks. Mayor Narvaiz stated she feels the Parks and <br />Recreation Advisory Board should hold a workshop to discuss these issues, <br />and the City Council could attend their workshop. The Council agreed by <br />consensus to have Staff research the price of the bike racks and to have <br />the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board hold a workshop to discuss these <br />issues regarding the sidewalks and bike/pedestrian projects. Ms. Anderson <br />stated the turning lanes north of Ranch Road 12, hike bike trail, fencing, <br />landscaping, final paving, punch list, striping and signage on the Craddock <br />Street Project have been completed. She stated the substantial completion <br />is July 30, 2006, and a ribbon cutting is scheduled for mid August. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a discussion regarding City Council direction on <br />future agenda items. 1) Mr. Bose stated he would like to have a discussion <br />regarding a sidewalk connecting HEB and Walgreens. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government <br />Code, Sections 551.072 and 551.073, to discuss exchange of real property <br />(proposed property exchange - 14-acre tract of City property in 1200-1300 <br />Blocks of IH35 North - City Council); and Section 551.087, to discuss <br />commercial or financial information the City has received from a business <br />prospect that the City seeks to have locate, stay or expand in or near the <br />City and with which the City is conducting economic development <br />negotiations, or to deliberate the offer of a financial or other incentive <br />to such a business prospect (Communications firm - City Council). The <br />Council adjourned into Executive Session at 8:50 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 10:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />provided direction regarding how to proceed on a property exchange in the <br />1200-1300 Blocks of IH35 North area. He stated the Council also provided <br />direction regarding conducting economic development negotiations with a <br />business prospect. He stated the Council gave direction to move the next <br />Regular Meeting to Monday, July 17, 2006. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 10:07 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Diaz and <br />by Mr. Thomaides. <br /> <br />secondedll <br />
