<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 11, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 19, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />APPROVING A LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND TEXAS STATE <br />UNIVERISTY FOR THE USE OF SIDEWALKS ALONG GUADALUPE STREET AND NORTH <br />LBJ DRIVE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE LICENSE <br />AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Jones moved for adoption of Resolution, and Ms. Robertson seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Bose inquired to the clarification of ownership of the <br />sidewalks. Laurie Anderson, Director of Engineering, stated as part of <br />construction on a building bounded by Guadalupe Street and North LBJ Drive, <br />Texas State University is going to relocate sidewalks and construct and <br />maintain traffic islands and landscaping. She stated the attached license <br />agreement will allow the University to perform this construction on City <br />right of way. She stated the City will review all the construction plans <br />and negotiate the design of the sidewalks. Mr. Bose inquired to who will <br />maintain the sidewalks and the landscaping of the area. Ms. Anderson <br />stated the University will maintain this area. The Council voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration Item 22, removed from the <br />consent agenda, adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TEXAS, <br />REQUESTING THE MEMBERS OF THE 80TH LEGISLATIVE SESSION OF THE STATE OF <br />TEXAS SUPPORT INCREASED FUNDING FOR THE TEXAS RECREATION & PARKS <br />ACCOUNT LOCAL PARK GRANT PROGRAM AND THE TEXAS STATE PARK SYSTEM <br /> <br />Mr. Guerrero moved for adoption of the Resolution, and Mr. Jones seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Bose inquired to whether TML has taken this Resolution up <br />as an issue. Rodney Cobb, Director of Parks Department, stated TML has not <br />taken this issue up. Mayor Narvaiz requested a copy of Resolution be sent <br />to Senator Wentworth and Representative Rose. The Council then voted <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced a public hearing and approval of an Ordinance on <br />first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAROCS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS FOR THE GREENPOINTE SUBDIVISION; <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />
