The Engineer, wlll with the City's assistance obtain <br />written plans from the Contractor for quality control of its work, and will monitor the <br />Contractor's compliance wIth its plan. <br /> <br />1.7.10 Through the EngIneer's CM and RE, staff a field office on the Project sIte for the <br />purposes of providing personnel to inspect the Contractor's work. The Engineer will Issue field <br />instructions, orders or similar documents dunng construction as provided in the construction <br />contract documents. The Engineer's RE will document field instructions, orders or approvals. <br /> <br />1.7.11 Through the Engineer's RE assist In coordinating CIty-provided testing, inspection and <br />survey services. In addition, the Engineer will review the reports and other information prepared <br />by the independent firms that are provided to the CIty. The Engineer will assist in coordinating <br />their schedules and the transmittal of theIr reports, findings or other information to the <br />Contractor and/or the City. The Engineer will not be responsible for the accuracy or <br />completeness of the work and reports of the Independent testing, inspection and survey firms. <br /> <br />1.7.12 Through the Engineer's RE maintain written reports, diaries and other records of <br />inspections. The RE will arrange for photographs to be taken (in dIgital format) of the <br />Contractor's work in progress on a monthly basis. Monthly photograph logs will be provided to <br />the City on CD. <br /> <br />1.7.13 Not guarantee the performance of the Contractor in constructing the Project. The RE's <br />inspections will not relieve the Contractor from responsibility for performIng the work in <br />accordance with the construction contract documents. The Engineer will not, through the RE's <br />performance of constructIon inspections, assume liabIlIty in any respect for the construction of <br />the Project. The EngIneer, with the assIstance of the City, WIll obtain written plans from the <br />Contractor for quality control of its work and WIll monitor the Contractor's compliance with <br />these plans. <br /> <br />1.7.14 Provide monthly written reports to the City as to the status of the construction project <br />includIng the Engineer's assessment of various items such as schedule, date of completion, <br />contract price, retalnage, pending changes to the contract pnce or completIon date. <br /> <br />1.7.15 In the event that the Contractor notifies the Engineer or the City of subsurface or physical <br />conditions at the site for which the contract for constructIon requires notification, the EngIneer <br />WIll advise the CIty and inspect the conditIons at the site. The Engineer will advise the CIty as to <br />the appropriate action(s), and will assist the CIty in responding to the Contractor. <br /> <br />1.7.16 In the provision of all services, Including inspections the Engineer WIll not have control <br />or charge of and will not be responsible for constructIon means, methods, techniques, sequences <br />or procedures, or for safety precautions and programs in connection WIth the work, for the acts or <br />omissions of the Contractor, subcontractors or any other persons performing any of the work, or <br />for the failure of any of them to carry out the work in accordance with the construction contract <br />documents unless such acts or omissions are due to the negligence of the EngIneer or are acts or <br />omiSSIons under the Engineer's control.
