<br />Mr. DeLeon stated his parents migrate for six months during each
<br />year and that they were not aware this was happening until it was
<br />changed. he stated his father feels very strongly that the street
<br />should remain named East Comal. If the Council considers renaming
<br />the street from Martin Luther King back to East Comal, a list of
<br />names asking to be notified was received by the City Secretary
<br />(Johnnie Armstead, 1421 W. Hopkins; Nell Burleson, 205 South Johnson;
<br />Dorothy Williams, 800 M.L.K. Boulevard; Rose L. Brooks, 308 Magnolia;
<br />Michele Burleson, 308 Magnolia; Rev. A. Washington, 708 Centre; Ollie
<br />W. Giles, 524 Valley).

<br />The Council returned to Item 6. on the Agenda. Mayor Younger intro-
<br />duced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading,
<br />the caption which was read as follows:

<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
<br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE II, SECTION
<br />2-9, AUTHORITY OF CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT FOR EXPENDI-
<br />TURES NOT EXCEEDING FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00),
<br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO AUTHORIZE THE
<br />CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS NOT IN CONFLICT
<br />WITH THE CHARTER OR ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY OR WITH
<br />STATE LAW AND CONTAINING PROVISIONS FOR ADEQUATE PRO-
<br />TECTION OF SAID CITY, FOR THE LEASE OF CITY-OWNED REAL
<br />PROPERTY FOR A TERM OF FIFTEEN (15) DAYS OR LESS FOR
<br />SPECIFIC USES WHICH WILL NOT RESULT IN PERMANENT DEFACE-
<br />MENT, ALTERATION, OR DAMAGE TO THE SUBJECT PROPERTY AND
<br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

<br />Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and
<br />Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration reconsideration of three
<br />Zoning Ordinances. None of the Council wished to reconsider any of
<br />the Ordinances. The captions of the Ordinances read as follows:
