<br />134 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />February 22, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE <br />AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE STATE OF TEXAS <br />FOR THE BLANKET COVERAGE OF VARIOUS PROJECTS INVOLVING <br />THE INSTALLATION, CONSTRUCTION, EXISTENCE, USE, OPERA- <br />TION AND MAINTENANCE OF CERTAIN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SIGNALS/ <br />ILLUMINATION IN SAID CITY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID <br />CITY TO EXECUTE SAID MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, FINDING THAT THE PAYMENT OF TAXES ON <br />LOT 28, BLOCK E, HUGHSON HEIGHTS ADDITION NO.2 IN <br />SAID CITY IS EXCESSIVE AND ERRONEOUS BY THE AMOUNT <br />OF $685.60, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING A REFUND IN <br />SUCH AMOUNT BY THE TAX ASSESSOR, AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTAND- <br />ING BETWEEN THE SOUTHWEST TEXAS UNIVERSITY POLICE DE- <br />PARTMENT AND THE SAN MARCOS POLICE DEPARTMENT, AUTHOR- <br />IZING THE MAYOR, THE POLICE CHIEF, AND THE CITY MAN- <br />AGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT AND ESTABLISHING AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez <br />seconded the motion. Mayor Younger stated he does not want the City's <br />officers to be called to assist in traffic matters and suggested the <br />City be reimbursed for the time expended by officers assisting. Mr. <br />Hankins advised the Council the Agreement would not require the City <br />to respond but merely expresses an intention to cooperate with one <br />another. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolu- <br />tion. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR ACCESS DRIVEWAY <br />PERMITS ISSUED PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 5 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, PUBLIC RIGHT- <br />OF-WAY ACCESS ORDINANCE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />
