Hopkins <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Daniel Guerrero at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in the City Council <br />Chambers, 630 East Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Council Members Thomaides and Becak arrived following Roll Call at 5:03 p.m. Council Member <br />Thomason was out of town. Council Member Prather departed early from the meeting due to an <br />emergency at 6:50 p.m. Council Member Scott departed early from the meeting due to a <br />speaking engagement at the University at 8:09 p.m. <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem John Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern <br />Wayne Becak, Council Member Shane Scott, Council Member Jude Prather and <br />Council Member Lisa Prewitt <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member Ryan Thomason <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />1. 5:OOPM <br />Executive Session in accordance with Section §551.071 of the Texas Government <br />Code: Consultation with Attorney - regarding pending litigation, to wit: DCI Developers, <br />LLC and Casey Development, Ltd. V. City of San Marcos; Civil No. 1:14- CV -296SS in <br />the United States Court for the Western District of Texas; and in accordance with <br />Section §551.072 of the Texas Government Code: Real Property - deliberate <br />regarding the possible acquisition of land along the San Marcos River; and in <br />accordance with Section §551.072 of the Texas Government Code: Real Property - <br />deliberate regarding the acquisition of land for possible expansion of the City's Water <br />Utility Infrastructure; and in accordance with Section §551.074 of the Texas <br />Government Code: Personnel Matters - discuss the potential appointment of a second <br />alternate Municipal Court Judge of the Court of Record. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Guerrero, seconded by Council Member Scott, that the Council <br />enter Closed Session at approximately 5:02 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 4 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Scott, Council Member Prather and Council <br />Member Prewitt <br />Against: 0 <br />Absent: 3 - Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Becak and Council Member <br />Thomason <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
