88 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MAY 9, 1988 PRESENT: Mayor Kathy M. !1orris Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Fred Guerra Karl W. Brown Rick Hernandez Betty Jane Kissler Billy G. Moore Bill Plummer City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Assistant City Manager Police Chief Director of Public Works Director of Parks and Recreation Director of Finance A. C. Gonzalez Janis K. Womack Lamar W. Hankins Larry D. Gilley Myron Galchutt George Boeker Rodney Cobb Donna Farley Also Present: Warren Zerr, Jerri Zerr, Patty Wenk, Dan Gibson, Jeff Hill, Patti Sullivan, Jake Sullivan, John Diaz, Judy Mitchell, John O'Hara, David Glover, Mark Hendricks, R. G. Phillips, Jim Gandy, Austin Curlee, Gayle Grassle, Patsy Greiner, Floyd MacKenzie and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 25, 1988. Mr. Hernandez moved to ap- prove the minutes and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Guerra, Hernandez, Kissler. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Morris, Moore, Plummer. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Emergency Meeting held April 28, 1988. Mr. Guerra moved for ap- proval and Mr. Brown seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Guerra, Hernandez, Kissler. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Morris, Moore, Plummer. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of appointments to the Main Street Advisory Board. Mr. Brown mved to table the appoint- ments to the Main Street Advisory Board, Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals and the Council's confirmation of the City Manager's appoint- ment to the Civil Service Commission (Items 4.A., 4.B. and 5) to the next Regular Meeting and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of appointments to the Human Services Advisory Board. Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Gloria Pimentel and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion; Mr. Brown moved to appoint Jane Rice and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion; and Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Mary Helen Moore and Mr. Moore seconded the motion. On roll call the Council voted unanimous approval of these appointments and directed the remaining appointments be scheduled on the May 23 agenda.
