Dan Thomas, President of KLBJ, stated within five years Karnack will offer 50 channels. The Council voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A NEW SECTION 5-39 TO BE ADDED TO DIVISION 2 OF ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 5 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY AMENDING TABLE M-2 OF APPENDIX M OF THE 1985 EDITION OF THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF PARKING SPACES AND LOADING ZONES REQUIRED TO BE RESERVED FOR THE HANDICAPPED, RENUMBERING SEQUENTIALLY THE REMAINING SECTIONS OF SAID DIVISION OF SAID ARTICLE OF SAID CHAPTER OF SAID CODE, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 20-3, AMENDMENTS TO PLUMBING CODE, OF ARTICLE II, OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADOPT CERTAIN SAFETY REQUIRE- MENTS FOR PLUMBING PROJECTS WITHIN SAID CITY INVOLVING TRENCH EXCAVATION EXCEEDING A DEPTH OF FIVE (5) FEET, RENUMBERING SEQUENTIALLY AMENDMENTS MADE TO THE PLUMB- ING CODE BY THIS ORDINANCE AND BY ORDINANCES ADOPTED ON FEBRUARY 23, 1987, AND JUNE 22, 1987, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council moved to Item 19 on the Agenda. Mr. Guerra moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session pursuant to Article 6252-17, §2(e), V.A.C.S., to discuss matters where the duties of the City Attorney to the City pursuant to the Code of Professional Responsibi- lity of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with Article 6252-17, and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (8:42 p.m.). Mr. Hernandez moved the Council reconvene at 9:08 p.m. and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council returned to Item 11 on the Agenda.
