R~\!ní?[]J <br />ìir!!f'ir-':¡\¡/I~!ij <br />Honorable Mayor and Member of the City Council LJC)uu U ~, <br /> <br />Mt\ Y 25 19G8 <br /> <br />I am Mrs. Bob Van Gundy. <br /> <br />My title is Chairman of the <br />CITY of SAN M"-li-(CJS <br />ADMINISTRA TIO¡,\ <br /> <br />Cemetery Commission. <br /> <br />To refresh your memory as to the purpose of the cemetery <br />commission, I read from the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos, Art. III, Sec. 6-46. <br /> <br />The purpose of the City of San Marcos Cemetery Commission <br />is to act as a liaison between the city staff and citizens to <br /> <br />determine citizen expectations and give recommendations to the <br /> <br />City Council for budget, maintenance, projects, and special <br /> <br />programs at the cemetery based on these expectations. <br />Sec. 6-47 Describes the Responsibilities <br /> <br />The City of San Marcos Cemetery Commission shall: <br /> <br />(a) Provide a yearly report to the City Council on cemetery <br /> <br />progress, programs, needs and other matters of concern. <br /> <br />(g) Monitor the financial standing of the cemetry and make <br /> <br />recommendations for changes. <br /> <br />(Ordinance No. 1982-39, <br /> <br />1 (6-37), 8-23-82. <br /> <br />I have not been able to get a <br /> <br />proper financial statement giving dates or where the <br /> <br />Perpetual Care funds are located. <br /> <br />Therefore, the <br /> <br />commission is unable to meet this responsibility to <br /> <br />the citizens and to the City Council. <br /> <br />The following are the accomplishments of the commission of the <br /> <br />last two years. <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />A metal shed has been built to house the maintenance <br /> <br />equipment, machines, etc. <br /> <br />This was accomplished after many citizens over a period <br />
