123 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 13, 1988 PRESENT: Mayor Kathy M. Morris Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Fred Guerra Billy G. Hankins Rodney Cobb Myron Galchutt George Boeker Steve Jenkins Also Present: Patty Wenk, Shirley Wickersham, Nelvia Burleson, Rose Brooks, Virginia May, Melissa Millecam, Jack Lindstrom, R. G. Phillips, Chuck Meisenheimer, Andrew Gary, John Meeks, Ben Ford, Jane Hughson, Larry Dupont, Larry Brinkmeyer, Jim Gandy, Janace Wade and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 23, 1988. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Minutes and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Moore, Morris, Guerra, Kissler, Plummer. NAY; None. ABSTAIN; Hernandez, Brown. Mayor Morris announced that minutes would be placed on the consensus agenda in the future. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Library Board to complete a vacancy. Mr. Brown moved to appoint Bill Liddle and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimous- ly. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Cemetery Commission. Mayor Morris moved to appoint Mrs. Graham Kyle; Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Ofelia Vasquez; and Ms. Kissler moved to reappoint Jack Cates, which passed unanimously. The fourth appoint- ment will be scheduled at the June 27 meeting. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three appoint- :ments to the Comrnission for Minorities. Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Ma.:riko Gomez; Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint George Ybarra; and Mr. Moore moved to appoint James E. Scott, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of seven appoint- ments to the Comrnission for Women. Mayor Morris moved to appoint Shirley Austin; appoint Rose Brooks, reappoint Barbara Gregory; re- appoint Lillie Elizondo and reappoint Johnnie Armstead; Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Connie L. Keefe; and Mr. Moore moved to appoint Karen Brittain, which passed unanimously. ** Mr. Hernandez was present at 7:35 p.m. * Mr. Gonzalez was not present at this meeting.
