<br />128 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 13, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration authorization for use of <br />contingency funds by the Police Department to attend Law Enforcement <br />Training Seminars outside the CAPCO Region in the amount of $3,770.00. <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval and Mr. Plurnrùer seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration authorization for use of <br />contingency funds by the Fire Department for two tires and tubes and <br />installation to the antique firetruck known as Old Betsy in the amount <br />of $525.00. Mr. Brown moved for approval and Mr. Hernandez seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval to close a portion <br />of San Antonio Street between Guadalupe and LBJ from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 <br />p.m. on June 23, 1988 for the Jaycees 5th Annual Seafood Gumbo Cook- <br />off. Mr. Plummer moved for approval and Mr. Hernandez seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. (See minutes of June 27, 1988). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced a discussion and direction to Staff regarding <br />concession in City Park during the Oilers Camp. Mr. Gilley advised <br />the Council we have received five bids from profit and non-profit <br />companies, and all have indicated they want to be sole source vendors. <br />He stated two bids were for souvenirs from vendors for profit, two <br />local bidders for non-profit souvenirs, food and soft drinks and <br />one food concession frorn out of town. All vendors were willing to <br />enter into an agreement for a percentage of the gross. Staff was <br />directed to negotiate with the vendors to work out suitable arrange- <br />ments that the vendors can approve, to bring the agreements to the <br />Council for approval and to establish some sort of control of the <br />receipts. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session pursuant <br />to Article 6252-17, §§2(e) and (f), V.A.C.S., to discuss matters <br />where the duties of the City Attorney to the City pursuant to the <br />Code of professional Responsibility of the State Bar of Texas clearly <br />conflicts with Article 6252-17; and purchase, exchange and value of <br />real property, respectively, and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously (8:49 p.m.). <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved the Council reconvene at 9:45 p.m. and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Council adjourned at 9:50 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Guerra and <br />seconded by Ms. Kissler. <br /> <br />&~f;~ <br /> <br />Billy G.
