Mr. Guerra stated he was opposed to considering the Ordinance on emergency. Jack Mutschlechner stated six cities were contacted regarding the writing of the specs for the firetruck. The Committee determined to write the specs for a 75' truck because we could not afford the 100' truck, and the Com- mittee also felt the 75' truck would be more maneuverable. Dean Shumaker of Sutphen stated if the Council needed more than 45 days, his company was willing to extend that to 60 days. Mayor Morris stated she felt strongly about the Ordinance being adopted now. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency. The Council moved Item 8.A. on the agenda to this point, award of bid on a custom pumper/aerial device firetruck. Mr. Plummer moved to award bid to Sutphen Corporation in the amount of $328,876.00, contingent upon a successful negotiation of a $9,500.00 discount, with the City making a down payment of $75,000.00 and the manufacturer to provide the City with a performance bond in the amount of $320,376.00, and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
