Regular Meeting November 20, 2007 Page 2 <br />INCREASE THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FROM SEVEN PERCENT (70) TO NINE <br />PERCENT (90) TO ESTABLISH AND FUND THE SAN MARCOS CONFERENCE CE TER AS <br />A VENUE PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Bose moved for adoption of Ordinance on emergency, and Mr. Guerrero <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Narvaiz presented Council Member Robertson a plaque thanking her for <br />her year of service. Ms. Robertson thanked the citizen for allowing her to <br />serve. Mayor Narvaiz issued the Certificate of Election to the elected <br />City Council Member, Place 1, Kim Porterfield, a copy which is attached to <br />the minutes. Honorable Becky Sierra administered the Oath of Office to Kim <br />Porterfield, a copy which is attached to these minutes. Mayor Narvaiz <br />issued the Certificate of Election to the elected City Council Member, <br />Place 2, Gaylord Bose copy which is attached to the minutes. Rev. Samuel <br />Montoya administered the Oath of Office to Gaylord Bose, a copy which is <br />attached to these minutes. <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the election of the Mayor Pro - Tempore and Deputy <br />Mayor Pro - Tempore.
