Mr. Hankins pointed out a typographical error to change Section 33.4 to Section 33-4. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the Regular Meeting held August 22, 1988, approval of minutes of the Special Meeting held August 29, 1988 and approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting held September 7, 1988, approval of four Ordinances on second reading, one Ordinance on third and final reading, and adoption of three Resolutions by consensus. The Council pulled Items 8.B. (2) and 8.D. (2) to be considered separately. Mr. Hernandez moved to approve the minutes of the three meetings, to approve the remaining three Ordinances on second reading, to adopt the Ordinance on third and final reading and to adopt the remaining three Resolutions by consensus and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The captions of the Ordinances and Resolutions read as follows: Approval of Ordinances on second reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-110 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD ONE INTERSECTION AT WHICH DRIVERS OF VEHICLES MUST STOP AT POSTED STOP SIGNS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 30-28 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE THAT ALL WATER BILLS MUST BE PAID ON OR BEFORE THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF THE MONTH RATHER THAN ON OR BEFORE THE TENTH DAY OF THE MONTH, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 26-17 OF ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 26 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO DELETE SUBSECTION (d) THEREFROM ELIMINATING THE EXEMPTION FROM PAYMENT OF THE CITY HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX FOR CORPORATIONS OR ASSOCIATIONS ORGANIZED AND OPERATED EXCLUSIVELY FOR RELIGIOUS, CHARITABLE OR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, AS REQUIRED BY LAW, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Adoption of Ordinance on third and final reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, ARTICLE VI, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 29-183 ESTABLISHING FINES FOR THE VIOLATION OF PARKING REGULATIONS AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Adoption of Resolutions: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING SHORT-TERM INVESTMENTS OF SAN MARCOS ELECTRIC UTILITY OPERATING FUNDS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH CH2M HILL IN CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN OF A SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION (SCADA) SYSTEM, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
