WHEN WILL THE
NEW LIBRARY
BE BUILT?

The city's proposed Capital Improvements Program (CIP) calls for
construction of the new library in FY 1989-90. The City Councilstül
needs to formally adopt the CIP and schedule a bond election' before the
project can become a reality. It is possible that a bond election and
referendum on use of the parle land will be held in May 1989 and that con.
struction on the new library could begin in 1990.

WHAT CAN J DO
TO HELP?

If you are excited about having anew public library to serve our growing
community, youshouldconcat:t members of the City Council and tell them
about your interest in having a bond election on this issue. When the
library bond election is held we will need your "YES" vote to insure that
the bonds are approved.

We also need .members to serve on the Citizens' Committee for a New
Library. This committee has been organized by the Library Board and
the Friends of the Library to help insure successful passage of the library
bond proposal and to raisejunds to furnish the new library. Call Library
Director Stephanie Langenkamp at 392--8124 if you are inJerested in
serving on the committee.

D01UllÌOns to the Friends of the Library Furniture Fund Drive are also
needed.
