Engineer will
obtain easement survey and field notes for six (6) properties to allow the City to change the
existing drainage easements into wastewater and drainage easements. We understand that
survey and field notes will not be required for temporary construction easements. A figure on
an aerial map illustrating the proposed temporary construction easement width and location
will be provided to the City. Easement acquisition is excluded from this scope of work and
anticipated to be performed by the City but can be addressed by the Engineer as an additional
service, if desired.
Task 4 - Geotechnical Evaluation
Engineer will obtain a Geotechnical Evaluation of the proposed alignment. The evaluation will
include four (4) subsurface borings with testing to determine the engineering properties of the
material anticipated to be encountered in the trench.
Task 5 - Design Drawings
Engineer will prepare detailed plan and profile sheets, details, and general construction notes
necessary to convey the intent of the project to solicit a competitive bid from prospective
contractors. The plans shall include necessary erosion and sedimentation controls, as well as
standard traffic control detail sheets. The plan and profile sheets shall be full size 22 "x34" and
prepared at a horizontal scale of 1" = 20'. The City will be provided with five (5) sets of half -
scale drawings and an electronic version (pdf) at the 30, 60, and 90 percent stage for review.
Engineer will provide an electronic (pdf) version of the final, sealed drawings for distribution by
the City. It is anticipated that the plan set will include 25 sheets. Meetings to discuss the
comments are not included in this scope of work. It is anticipated that comments will be
discussed via email and phone.
Task 6— Technical Specifications and Bid Form
Engineer will prepare the technical specifications and bid form for the Contract Manual. The
City will prepare the complete Contract Manual and Engineer will review the completed
manual.
Task 7 - Submit for Approvals
We understand that the City of San Marcos will coordinate approval of the final design from
TOOT for the portion in Staples Road. No effort has been included in this task for Klotz
Associates.
