We understand that the project is approximately
3,100 lineal feet of water line and 600 lineal feet of wastewater line.
At the time of preparation of this proposal, the construction method is anticipated to be entirely
open cut techniques. The purpose of this investigation is to characterize the soils at the site and
provide general construction recommendations for the water lines.
Scope of Work
Geotechnical Task:
We propose to drill 4 borings, two to a depth of 10 feet, and two to a depth of 15 feet deep and
spaced approximately 1,000 feet apart as per the table in the next page.
Street Name
No. of Bores
Juarez Avenue
]
10
Staples Road
1001
Cape Road
1
15'
Laredo Street
1
15
Totals
4
50
The field testing of soil samples will include pocket penetrometer in the cohesive soils and Standard
Penetration Test (SM in the cohesionless soils. In rock, Rock Quality Designation (RQD) and
percent recovery will be determined in the field.
The objective of the laboratory testing program is to supplement the field data to develop a
thorough understanding of the subsurface conditions relevant to the design and construction of the
open cut sections of the project. The following laboratory tests will be conducted on select soil and
rock samples.
