<br />65 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />June 8, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING APPENDIX G, HISTORICAL ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY <br />ESTABLISHING A MEETING DAY FOR THE HISTORIC PRESERVA- <br />TION COMMISSION, PROVIDING FOR APPLICATION DEADLINES, <br />CLARIFYING NEED FOR A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS, <br />AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mr. Guerra second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ADDING A NEW SECTION 10-41 TO PROVIDE <br />CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION <br />CODE, 1985 EDITION, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mayor Younger second- <br />ed the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A NO PARKING <br />ZONE ON LINDSEY STREET (BOTH SIDES) AND NORTH STREET <br />(BOTH SIDES) AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-141 OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A PROVI- <br />SION PROHIBITING PARKING IN PARKING LOT AREAS DESIG- <br />NATED BY COLORED CURBS OR SIGNS AND ESTABLISHING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final <br />reading and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion. Ms. Kissler moved <br />to amend the Ordinance to delete 16 in its entirety and add in its <br />place: "Sec. 29-141. (a) (16)a. At curbs in private or 1¡'ublic parking <br />lots designated fire zones by red markings and/or by s~gns indicating <br />that parking is prohibited, except for vehicles authorized by the Fire <br />Marshal or other law enforcement officer. b. At curbs in private or <br />public parking lots designated as conunercial zones by yellow markings <br />and/or by signs indicating that parking is limited to commercial <br />vehicles, except for commercial vehicles which may be limited by <br />written notice," and Mayor Younger seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Ordinance on third and final reading. <br />
