65 Regular Meeting June 8, 1987 Page 4 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING APPENDIX G, HISTORICAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY ESTABLISHING A MEETING DAY FOR THE HISTORIC PRESERVA- TION COMMISSION, PROVIDING FOR APPLICATION DEADLINES, CLARIFYING NEED FOR A CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mr. Guerra second- ed the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ADDING A NEW SECTION 10-41 TO PROVIDE CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE, 1985 EDITION, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance and Mayor Younger second- ed the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A NO PARKING ZONE ON LINDSEY STREET (BOTH SIDES) AND NORTH STREET (BOTH SIDES) AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hernandez moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-141 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY THE ADDITION OF A PROVI- SION PROHIBITING PARKING IN PARKING LOT AREAS DESIG- NATED BY COLORED CURBS OR SIGNS AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion. Ms. Kissler moved to amend the Ordinance to delete 16 in its entirety and add in its place: "Sec. 29-141. (a) (16)a. At curbs in private or 1¡'ublic parking lots designated fire zones by red markings and/or by s~gns indicating that parking is prohibited, except for vehicles authorized by the Fire Marshal or other law enforcement officer. b. At curbs in private or public parking lots designated as conunercial zones by yellow markings and/or by signs indicating that parking is limited to commercial vehicles, except for commercial vehicles which may be limited by written notice," and Mayor Younger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final reading.
