43 Regular Meeting February 23, 1987 Page 2 Mayor Younger introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as fòllows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS! AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY ZONING LOTS 56-61, 70-76 AND 78-80 OUT OF THE A. M. RAMSEY SUBDIVISION OF 32-1/2 ACRES OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #2, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 89, PAGE 479 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS; LOCATED AT 101-116 SEGUIN STREET, 205-207 SECOND STREET AND 204-221 THIRD STREET FROM "M" (SINGLE, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DIS- TRICT) TO "MR" (MOBILE HOME AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT); AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak in favor or in opposition to the zoning request. Frank Robbins advised the Council this is a city-initiated change and that there is a lack of sites for mobile homes in our community. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY ZONING .907 ACRES OF LAND IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE, SAID .907 ACRES BEING A PART OF FARM LOT 10, AS SHOWN ON THE ORIGINAL TOWN MAP OF SAN MARCOS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 46, PAGE 448, OF THE DEED RECORDS OF HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS; LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF THE 1200 BLOCK OF PORTER STREET FROM "R-l" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) TO "MF-l" (MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]); AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak in favor or in opposition to the Zoning request. Celestino Mendez advised the Council he was present to answer any questions of the Council. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr. Coddington moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordin- ance and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. Mr. Brown asked how wide the lot is, and Mr. Mendez stated it is 82' wide. Mr. Robbins advised there will be a future recommendation from the Zoning Commission to change the requirement of lot width to 60', but at present it will require a variance from the ZBOA before a permit could be issued (100' require- ment). The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Ordinance.
