<br />124 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />July 13, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak for or against the land use amendment. No one did, so <br />Mayor Younger closed the public hearing. Mr. Farr moved for adoption <br />of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration a public hearing and adop- <br />tion of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ~lENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP) <br />OF THE MASTER PLAN OF SAID CITY, OF 1.003 ACRES OF LAND, <br />MORE OR LESS, OUT OF A 16.08 ACRE TRACT AS DESCRIBED IN <br />VOLUME 320, PAGES 499-505 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED ON THE NORTH SIDE OF RANCH ROAD <br />12, FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br />to speak in favor or in opposition to the land use amendment. No one <br />diG, so ~~ayor Younger closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved <br />for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Hayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED SEPTEM- <br />BER 8, 1986 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF <br />THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT OF <br />THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1986 AND ENDING ON SEPTEMBER <br />30, 1987, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS <br />AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE, TO REVISE SAID ESTIMATES <br />AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS, ADOPTING SAID REVISIONS <br />AND ESTIMATES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br />Farr seconded the motion. The Council requested the City enter into <br />an agreement with the School District regarding the sharing of expenses <br />for the crossing guards' salaries. Mr. Nicola stated he wants to review <br />the Police Department's request longer and wants to review the floor <br />plan for the renovation at the Police Department, and Mr. Gonzalez <br />stated he would furnish it to Mr. Nicola. On roll call the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Brown, Farr, Younger, hernandez, Kissler. <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Guerra, Nicola. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration an emergency addendum to <br />the agenda, adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE PASSED AND AP- <br />PROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON JULY 7, 1987, WHICH <br />ORDERED A JOINT SPECIAL ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND <br />COUNTY OF HAYS, TEXAS, TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 8, 1987 <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING THE ADOPTION OF AN AD- <br />DITIONAL ONE-HALF OF ONE PERCENT (1/2%) LOCAL SALES <br />AND USE TAX WITHIN THE CITY, TO PROVIDE FOR CHANGES <br />IN POLLING PLACES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />
