166 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JULY 27,1987 PRESENT: Mayor J. E. Younger Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Gerald G. Farr Karl W. Brown Fred Guerra Rick Hernandez Betty Jane Kissler * William C. Nicola City Manager A. C. Gonzalez City Secretary Janis K. Womack City Attorney Lamar W. Hankins Assistant City Manager Larry Gilley Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb Fire Chief Oscar Carpenter Director of Planning Frank Robbins Director of Public Works George Boeker Also Present; Mark Hendricks, Dan Smith, Margaret Lindsey, Johnnie Armstead, Rodney Ruiz, Linda Rodriguez, Rick Fisher and others. Mayor Younger called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Speci.àl Meeting held July 13, 1987. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the minutes and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 13, 1987. Mr. Farr moved for approval of the minutes and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unani- mously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Cemetery Commission. Mr. Guerra moved for appointment of Joe Nicola and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Storm Drainage Advisory Board. Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Ansell McCarty as Mayor Younger's appointment at Large and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the Plumbing Board of Adjustments and Appeals. No names were sub- mitted and the Council requested this be rescheduled for August 10, 1987. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to the No-Smoking Ordinance Committee. Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Johnnie Armstead as her Citizen at Large and Mayor Younger seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of appointments to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Brown moved to reap- point Robbie Robbins and Mr. Farr moved to appoint Brenda Smith. The Council requested separate roll calls on the appointments. Mayor Younger then moved to reappoint Robbie Robbins to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Brown then moved to appoint Brenda Smith and Mr. Farr seconded the motion. Mr. Brown suggested that Alternates Richard Pustejovsky and Rodney Ruiz continue to serve as Alternates * Mr. Nicola present at 7:45 p.m.
