<br />14 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />September 14, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THAT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND THE SAN MARCOS CONSOLIDATED <br />INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT RELATING TO SCHOOL CROS- <br />SING GUARDS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Farr not present to <br />vote on this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ACKNOw~EDGING, APPROVING AND RATIFYING <br />TWO PRIOR RATE INCREASES TO THE AGREEMENT WITH BROWN- <br />ING-FERRIS, INC., APPROVING THE AMENDMENT TO THE AGREE- <br />MENT WITH BROWNING-FERRIS, INC. TO INCREASE THE BASE <br />RESIDENTIAL RATE, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />SAID ADDENDUM, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Nicola was not <br />present to vote on this item and was not present for the remainder <br />of the meeting - 9:00 p.m.). <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follóws: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF <br />AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND WRIGHT'S OUTDOOR <br />AMUSEMENTS FOR ITS USE OF CITY PARKLAND FOR THE CON- <br />DUCT OF A CARNIVAL, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~ßNAGER TO <br />EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration award of bid on a light <br />duty pickup truck for the Public Works Department. Mr. Brown moved <br />to award bid to San Marcos Nissan in the amount of $7,515.00 and <br />Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval to exercise an op- <br />tion to extend the Maintenance Contract of the City Cemetery for one <br />additional year. Mayor Younger moved to extend the contract for one <br />additional year with Maintenance Management (Gene Bagwell), said ex- <br />tended term to end September 30, 1988, and Mr. Farr seconded the mo- <br />tion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval to close San <br />Antonio Street (between LBJ and Guadalupe) on Wednesday, October 14, <br />1987, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in connection with the Second <br />Annual Old Car Lap of Texas Road Rally. Judy Mitchell advised the <br />Council arrangements have been made to provide luncheons for the <br />participants from all the local pizza restaurants making the con- <br />tributions of pizzas. The Council requested there be no charge on <br />the parking meters during this time. Mr. Farr moved to approve the <br />closing of the street and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />
