65 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OCTOBER 12, 1987 PRESENT: Mayor J. E. Younger Mayor Pro-Tern Council Members Gerald G. Farr Karl W. Brown Fred Guerra Rick Hernandez Betty Jane Kissler William C. Nicola City Manager City Secretary City Attorney Assistant City Manager Director of Env. and Engineering Director of Planning Director of Public Works A. C. Gonzalez Janis K. Womack Lamar W. Hankins Larry Gilley Steve Jenkins Frank Robbins George Boeker Also Present: Mark Hendricks, Nina pryatel, Bill Plummer, Judy Mitchell, Austin Curlee, Joe Wester, Jane Hughson, Ben Ford, Daniel Brown, Jody Dodd, Jim Gandy, Caesar Hernandez, Melissa Millecam, Johnny James, Steve Smith, Terry Ewald, Abe Zimmerman, Danny Roth, Mary Salinas and others. Mayor Younger called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held September 28, 1987. Mr. Guerra moved for ap- proval of the minutes and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the City Manager's appointment to the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Brown requested this appointment be tabled to the next Council Meeting and Mr. Guerra second- ed the motion. Mr. Brown indicated he was unclear whether or not Dr. Daniel Bell had determined whether or not he wished to be reappointed. The Council voted unanimously to table. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Library Board. Mr. Brown moved to appoint Mary Hardesty and Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Reverend Gordon Talk. The Council voted unani- mously to appoint Ms. Hardesty and Rev. Talk. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of three appoint- ments to the Planning Commission. Mr. Guerra moved to place in nomina- tion John T. Wade for reappointment, Marjorie Leder for reappointment, Ron Hart for appointment and Nina pryatel for appointment. On roll call the following vote was recorded: BROWN: FARR: GUERRA: YOUNGER: HERNANDEZ: KISSLER: NICOLA: pryatel, Leder, Wade. pryatel, Wade, Leder. Wade, Leder, Pryatel. Wade, Leder, Hart. Hart, Wade, Leder. Hart, Leder, Pryatel. Leder, pryatel, Wade. Ms. Leder and Mr. Wade were reappointed and Mrs. pryatel was appointed to the Planning Commission.
